way way way back in elementary, i was introduced to the wonderful world of computers. Of course what attracted me then was games and more games. Then came high school and my first encounter with a 386 computer and then a 486. Then college were i finally built my very first desktop computer. From Duron to Athlon to Mobile Athlon XP, from Swiftech to Thermalright with a Thermaltake fan. Ahhh... and now another project to start beginning with a LCD monitor. :D

- ito ang uri ng photographer na nakapose na ang modelo pero bago pindutin ang shutter button ay kung ano-anong settings pa ang pinaglalalagay sa dSLR nya... from shutter speed to lens length... kahit prime na yung lens nya at sakto, papalitan nya kasi parang may mali... nagbobokeh pa para lang makuha yung gustong epek... resulta... ngawit na ang model...

HUMAN GORILLAPOD
- uncommon to pero pag naka-encounter ka... luluwa mata mo... it's all about the lighting ika nga diba? opposite ito ni MAUTOS... imbes na utusan ang model, ang photographer mismo ang nagbebend, lumiliyad, o higit sa lahat, kulang na lang maging gorillapod dahil sa pagiging flexible sa pagkuha ng shots... ayaw nyang utusan ang model dahil baka tumanggi na yun sa next photoshoot eh... makikita mo lahat ng kasama nya imbes na sa model na maganda nakatingin, sa photographer... biro mo human gorillapod flexibility eh... di mo sya masisisi pare... perfect lighting ang habol nya... and his/her shots will justify it... pero pagkatapos ng shoot at nakaayos na ang lahat at nakauwi na, dederetso yan sa Mercury Drug Store o sa kahit anong Botica para bumili ng pain reliever...

- eto ang pinaka-metikuloso pagdating sa post-processing... lahat ng options kinakalikot... white-balance, tone, colour, lahaaaaaaat.... basta makuha nya yung pinakamagandang kuha... wag ka, LAHAT ng post-processing tools, apps at plugins meron sya sa PC nya... the ultimate darkroom man... di mo sya masisisi... pag nakita mo pics nya... luluwa mata mo at maglalaway ka... resulta: EGO power increased by 10%, lalong magiging adik yan sa post-processing... lahat ng pics nya, kada adjustment, save as copy... in other words... ADIK SA POST PROCESSING

- eto na siguro ang ultimate mamaw photographer... combine mo si MAPINDOT, MAPILI, MA-ZOOM at TRIGGER HAPPY... karamihan ng mga ganitong photog eh nagsisimula sa mga events na may makikitang magagandang babae/lalake... tapos babanat nya zoom range nya from his/her lens lineup... makikita mo naka-mount sa cam nya yung mga mahahabang range ang zoom... tapos habang nagpopost process... may nakatirik nang candila... dadasalan nya yung natipuhan nyang subject... maging akin kaaa... maging akin kaaah... tapos hanggang tenga ngiti nyan pag sa susunod na event shoot eh andun uli yung subject na trip nya... pero this time kit lens na ima-mount nya... para malapitan nyang kukunan yung subject... stalker eh... then hihingin na nya yung YM... multiply... deviantart... cellphone number... pag nahingi nya... hanggang tenga ang ngiti!!!

my Canon 55-250is

Since I already have an Ultra Wide Angle (UWA) lens (Tokina 12-24 F4) and was itching for something with a longer reach than my Canon 24-70L. I consulted with my good friend google for some 70-200 options. And he gave me 3 choices:

The Sigma 70-200 F2.8, which has the best focusing system aside from the L equivalent lens.

The Tamron 70-200 F2.8, which has the best IQ which is sometimes as good as its L equivalent lens but falls short of on the focusing side.

And finally the Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS USM, which is the best of the bunch but costs an arm and a leg and probably half a lung.

So after doing a bunch of research, the next step to take was to look at my wallet. And there I saw Kent. Kent Afford. :)) Since none of them was below 33K. I was not ready to spend that much yet since I still have a lot of tech itch that needs to be scratched. :))

And then I stumbled upon this cheap plastic lens on the net and after reading a few reviews and seeing Ken this time around in my wallet the hunt for the lens was on.

Having no time to go to Hidalgo and certainly didn't want to buy in the mall since it's a few thousand higher, it was short of a miracle to find someone selling her lens here in Multiply! She used the lens for less than 3months and it also bundled with a UV filter and a CPL (na nakalimutan. huhuhu) for a price less than in Hidalgo!

So now the only thing missing is some good photo op.. so photo op anyone? :D

oh noes!

As I was uploading a lot of long overdue photos and at the same time also fiddling with Adobe Lightroom v2 which I just installed yesterday evening, I accidentally deleted a set of our trip Trinoma photos!

At first I thought I was only deleting meta data info and not the actual files but lo and behold! :((

I could have restored it from the recycle bin if the files were stored on my local drive. But since I'm working directly from my CF card. All I lost! Ohnoes! Gasp! Hithit ng hangin!

Well, later when I get home I think I could still try and restore it via a program (forgot the name) I used way back when I also accidentally shift+deleted 13gb worth of raw wedding video files. Hope it works.

Last saturday, an officemate invited us for some home cook dinner. Nevermind how he smuggled meat out of the US and into Barbados, it was all delicious!

- Griilled Bratswurt boiled in Banks beer (the local beer of the island)
- Grilled deer meat wrapped in bacon (which taste like steak)
- Curry deer
- Spicy rabbit (taste like kaldereta)

And Foie gras (force fed duck [sorry Anjie] a delicacy straight from France.

Everything was enjoyable to the palate. ^__^

miss you

I miss the way we just talk and talk.

• Ayon sa immigration bawal daw gamitin ang L1 visa for transit to Barbados, ginamitan ko ng charms, pumayag na... sabi ko rin kasi na yun na ginawa ko dati pa. hehehe.
• Pumunta ako sa WorldClub lounge ng northwest. Hindi pa pala ako pwede dun. huhu.. buti na lang may malambot na sofa.
• Nagbasa ng libro.
• Natapos magbasa ng libro.
  
• Nakatulog ng 4hrs.
• Kumain ng Quiznos... uhuhhmmm.... (Ayon sa advertisement kasi Quiznos.. uhuhmmmm...)

• Nagtanong kung san makikita yun group number.
• Tinanong nanaman ako sa visa ko.
• Nagtopak ang system ng American Airlines (Sabre error.. ayon sa screen... navitaire ba gumagawa ng system nila?)
  
• Nadelay ang flight ng 20min dahil sa akin.
• Avoid them evil eyes ng mga passenger.

Narakarting ng Barbados (~52hrs)

• Nagpatatak ng Visa.
• Nadelay ang bagahe. Tapos isa lang yun service rep nlia na wala sa upuan kaya kailngan ko pa hintayin. Tae sya.
• Nagtaxi.
• Sinundo sa school yun anak nun taxi driver.
• Hinatid yun anak sa bahay nila. Anak ng! (hehe pero ok lang naman)
  
• Apartment na.
• Wala pa rin bagahe ko. :(
  
• Nag crab and corn soup.. just add 1 egg.

Enero 30, 2008 - Sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari tumayo sa kanyang kinalalagyan ang aming tagapamuno sa opisina at nag simulang mamigay sa bawat isa sa aming nasa opisina ng company magazine. Ako ay natuwa dahil naisip ko na ito ay magbibigay update sa akin sa mga pangyayari ngayon enero... hangang sa napansin ko na december issue pala ang kanyang pinamigay...
