of evil and greater evil

just had this thought while watching Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros. See, there was a scene where Maxi's dad, a local cellphone snatcher/holdupper, went into a fit of rage when he found out that one of his sons killed a teenager in order to acquire the boy's cellphone.

So he was saying 'Putang na ka! Holdupper tayo! Hindi tayo mamatay tao!" which puny brain interpreted as, if you've done something evil, you could negate the guilt feeling by thinking that you could've done something of greater evil but didn't.

good film that really portrays the filipino mentality in the hoods.
